TVOD Setup Guide — Install IBO Player on Any Device

Five minutes from order to first channel. IBO Player is the only player we support — it's the most reliable for TVOD's stream architecture.

What Is IBO Player and Why Does TVOD Use It?

IBO Player is a universal IPTV client developed for Smart TVs and streaming sticks, with an Android, iOS, Windows and macOS counterpart. It supports M3U playlists, Xtream Codes API, and renders 4K HEVC streams natively. Because it works on virtually every device — including non-Android TVs — it's the most consistent player to recommend to a Canadian household with mixed hardware.

TVOD officially supports IBO Player only. This is intentional: it means we can guarantee 99.99% playback uptime instead of chasing bugs across a dozen apps.

Install IBO Player on Android Phone or Tablet

  1. Open the Google Play Store.
  2. Search for IBO Player.
  3. Tap Install and wait for the download to finish.
  4. Launch the app — you will see a MAC address on screen.
  5. Go to iboplayer.com on a browser, register or log in, and add your device by entering that MAC address.
  6. Pay the one-time IBO Player licence fee (currently $5.49 USD) directly on the site.
  7. Back in the app, add the M3U URL we emailed you (see Section: Add Playlist).

Pro tip: On Android phones, keep IBO Player in the foreground when casting to Chromecast for smoother audio sync.

Install IBO Player on Amazon Firestick

  1. From the Firestick home screen, hover over the magnifying glass and search IBO Player.
  2. Select the official IBO Player app and click Get.
  3. After installation, open the app. Note your MAC address shown on the welcome screen.
  4. On your phone or computer, open iboplayer.com and activate the device.
  5. Add your TVOD M3U playlist — the playlist will sync within seconds.

If you don't see the app in the Amazon Appstore, you can sideload the APK using the Downloader app. Make sure Apps from Unknown Sources is enabled in Settings › My Fire TV › Developer Options.

Install IBO Player on LG and Samsung Smart TV

Add Your TVOD M3U Playlist

  1. Open IBO Player.
  2. Navigate to Settings › Playlist › Add M3U.
  3. Paste the URL we emailed you after purchase. Save.
  4. Channels will populate within 5–15 seconds depending on connection speed.

Add via Xtream Codes API

Prefer Xtream API for faster EPG loading? Use the credentials in your TVOD welcome email:

In IBO Player, choose Add Xtream Code instead of Add M3U, then paste those three values.
